Disaster Hygiene Kits 2015

The last two years, during the month of July, we assemble disaster hygiene kits for the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance program. The kits consist of a hand towel, wash cloth, comb, nail clipper, bar of soap, toothbrush and band-aids in a zip type plastic bag.

Our congregation assembles and brings the kits to church. We then ship them to the distribution warehouse. At the time of a national disaster, the Church World Service agency ships them to disaster sites.

During the October 2015 South Carolina floods, hygiene kits were distributed to flood victims. During the month of November, we were again assembling and collecting kits to replenish those distributed.

Lake Wateree Presbyterian Church is a small congregation, but we do things big! Hundreds of disaster hygiene kits have been collected. Our membership is big at heart!
